Thromboxane A 2, the predominant cyclooxygenase product in platelets, is a potent platelet
agonist and vasoconstrictor in vitro. Prostacyclin, the major product of vascular endothelium,
has opposite effects on platelet function and vascular tone. These properties prompted the
